Sunday, January 15th, 2012. This was a good day. I woke up around 11 something in the morning and hung out with my parents in the living room. I spent more time than I would have liked writing/editing pictures for my blog. Mason and Delaney came over which was awesome. I got to eat breakfast with Mason at the kitchen table. That was really fun. Mom, dad, Mason, and Delaney were all in the kitchen for breakfast. I just spent the afternoon hanging out with them and also working on my journal. My Uncle Mike and 2nd cousin Alexis stopped by after they had just eaten at the diner. That was really cool. Alexis was really well behaved, which was nice to see because usually she is pretty hyper. They both had a lot of fun with the kids. Uncle Mike was really really happy to be around the babies. After they left, Derek stopped by for a few hours. He was actually there when I left to go to West Chester for the rest of the night. I went to West Chester because Jared’s band was playing their first show at MPH. The Skin Cells were also playing with Three Man Cannon, Pheramones, and American War. There was also a Green Day cover set that was funny. It was just a bunch of people playing who knew the songs, people that had never even practiced the songs together. Jared’s band played first, and there were a decent amount of people there when they played. They played very well, and I was very happy for Jared. After they played, it was just hangs and bands for the rest of the night. Joe ended up coming to the show after dropping off Maddie at the airport and eating dinner with his mom. Joe and I went to Wawa together in one of his parents’ cars and had a good talk. Joe seems to be handling Maddie going away very well. I am happy for the both of them, and I am happy to be there for both of them. It was cool to see Joe get excited during the Green Day cover set, grab the mic, and sing into it for part of the song. I was just like, “Fuck yeah.” When The Skin Cells played, I sat on an amp next to Joe, but he get really excited during one of the songs and stood up to stand in the front. He turned to Gabby and started singing to her, and they were both very smiley. That made me happy too, because I am not sure how often those two see each other. I know that Joe and Gabby’s friendship goes back, and that they are great friends. It was cool to just see Joe trying his best to make the best of his situation. Maddie and Joe are both trying to make the best of it. I am excited for them. Hmm. Matt (American War) played in the living room. That was neat. Pat Brier was there. Megan Burke was there. Bonnie was there. Brian was there. Um, everyone was there. The house was actually packed. A lot of people came out to tonight’s show. I hung out for a bit after the show, and left a little after they started the bonfire. Joe and I talked outside by my car for about 15-20 minutes before we both went home. I didn’t want to drive home alone. It was nice talking to him. I drove home on the turnpike, and then I came home to see that the lights were on downstairs. I was excited, thinking that Mason and Delaney were still up, but they weren’t. The dining room light was on, and so was the fan. I guess Mason wanted the fan on, and they forgot to turn it off. Mason loves fans. I went upstairs to my parents’ bedroom and the door was open just a crack. I slowly opened it and peeked in. My parents were asleep in bed, and Mason and Delaney were in their own things sleeping. It was so cute. I just stood there for a few minutes watching everyone sleep. My mom woke up from a cough and saw me. She said hi, and then my dad woke up. We ended up hanging out for a few minutes. Delaney started making cranky noises, but went back to sleep. I went downstairs to listen to the new Delay record I got tonight, Rushing Ceremony, while writing/editing pictures for this journal entry. I must say that I expected a lot more from this Delay record. Plain Language, their previous record, is pretty much a perfect pop punk record. Maybe I am just expecting too much? I don’t know. Rushing Ceremony is a lot slower. There aren’t many songs on it. I didn’t get to listen to it very loudly because everyone else in the house was sleeping. It was really low. I could still tell that the record was very different than their previous one. I know a band can’t write the same record over and over again, I’m not asking Delay to do that, nor am I expecting them to, but I expected a pretty fast record, at least a record with 5 fast songs. I think there were like 2-3 fast songs, out of 13. I don’t know. I need to listen to it more. When that record was done, I really felt like listening to NONA, so that is what I am doing right now. It is 2:38AM. I am going to go to bed soon. I was talking to Schmiddty on Facebook. He said he has been sick, and apologized for not calling me over the past few days, ‘cause earlier in the week he said he wanted to hang. Mimi was online for a second too, and I was talking to her. Today was a good day.
