Friday, December 30th, 2011. This was a pretty long night, but it was fun. During the day, I hung out at home, and later on I went to Thursday’s final US show with Derek and his friend Kevin. The show was at the TLA, and there were five bands total. It was such a long show. Screaming Females played though. That was really fun. Mewithoutyou played too, but I could never get into them. Make Do and Mend played, and I never liked them. Aficionado played too. I had never heard them, but I didn’t like them either. Thursday was great, but they ended with a weird song I had never heard before, “Turnpike Divides.” I think they played 3-4 songs off of Full Collapse, 3-4 off of War All the Time, and they even played “This Side of Brightness” off of Waiting. They said “This Side of Brightness was the first song they had ever written. The dude who did the screams on Full Collapse sang with Geoff during the Full Collapse songs. After the show, went to Melissa Bross’, so I could get my Stay What You Are LP off CJ. CJ ordered like seven or something from Interpunk for his friends who wanted one. They did a reissue of the record, only 200 pressed on yellow marble. After this, we went to Derek’s place, and then the Aramingo Diner. Chad wasn’t lying when he said the Aramingo Diner was an interesting/weird place. For the most part, I didn’t really like it. That area is strange. After this, we dropped off Kevin, went to Derek’s to pick up some stuff, and then we drove home listening to Pirouette. I think I hung out for a little bit, and then went to sleep.
