you said you forgot i wasn’t white, as if you were doing something polite. but you don’t know how sad you sound when i’ve got my ear to the ground. the ones who don’t listen are the ones we can’t trust. tonight, i’m taking out the trash, because you’re starting to rot and with your lingering stench i won’t last. good riddance.

It would be nice
In any case,
To someday meet you
Face to face
Walking down
The road to hell…
As I come up
Feeling swell.

Langston Hughes - “Enemy”

a drive from southeastern colorado to asheville, north carolina in two full days of daylight with some hours into the night ends like this. the day before, after having slept under the visible milky way, we woke up next to a landscape of mountainous sand dunes beside the rocky mountains in colorado, drove the car through new mexico, the barren landscape of the texas panhandle, and through the evening into oklahoma. the night before this photo was taken, we had slept in the car at a rest stop on the border of oklahoma and arkansas - 85 degrees fahrenheit at 2AM with 97% humidity - it was hell. at one point in the morning when the sun was already up and baking the black sedan, i woke up with my grease-shined face pressed against the back window to a man glaring at me as he sat parked in the space next to us - his eyes never left my face, and i just looked at him for a few moments, confused. he reversed, then parked next to another car for about 30 seconds even though most of the lot was available, and then left. i fell back asleep until a fly landed on my face. the first words i uttered out of my mouth this day were, “get me the fuck out of oklahoma.”

we parked the car on the side of the road, and hid ourselves behind a big rock formation to watch the sunset over the badlands.

the new joyce manor record

further proof that bass is the coolest instrument. well, every instrument is the coolest, but damn, i love bass. the bass on this record is so, so, so good.

Lol at the guy who wrote an article telling women what not to wear (high-waist shorts). What a chud. One thing, you’re a dude telling women what to wear, LOL. Second thing, high-waist anything is way hot. Dawg needs to get a clue.

aside from trying to create positive, constructive dialogue about social issues, my main goal as a brown person is to anger people who are unwilling to make an effort to understand perspective by spewing my experience from my mouth and to hopefully smash some sense into their empty heads. my goal is for those who have no sense of empathy/don’t like me for who i am to hate me even more, to have a burning desire to say i should have been lynched like the rest of them. i want you to hate me - it feels good. i don’t want you in my life. i don’t need you. your hate only assures that you will never be a part of my life, and i am thankful for that. i don’t need trash in my life.
