first big crush in college from three years ago fell off the face of the earth for a few years and just added me on facebook.  this makes me think about freshman year.  freshman year was incredible.  one time, in my dorm, as i waited for people to get ready to go to j&h, i tried to turn my 10 speed english racer into a stationary exercise bike.  one time, i was going to bed in boxers, tried to fart in bed, and it didn’t end well.  this was while my roommate was trying to go to bed.  quietly, and carefully walking (squatting as i walked) to the bathroom in boxers, i put on new ones, and threw out the other ones in a trash can at the end of the hallway.  i don’t think they threw out the trash for a week.  ohhhhhhhhhhh, freshman year.

Just watched a ton of old footage and old montages from high school with Steinbock.  So much fun.

Skating Falls Park this past November.  This happened.  Why is it upside down on the dashboard, but not on my actual blog?  I don’t know.

I originally posted a video about this show, but now I think the photo is better.  This will probably be the best Tigers Jaw show I’ll ever go to.  Ava House was awesome for shows.  Terribly smoky, but it was incredibly fun.  I believe The Sidekicks and American War played this show as well.  This was a few months before I grew obsessed with The Sidekicks and they became one of my favorite bands.
I will always remember thinking to myself how I planed to fall if the floor caved in.  By the end of this school year, the floor was a trampoline.

This goes down in my top 5 shows of all time. My brothers in The Ruining opened and played one of their last sets ever. It was also my first time seeing Tigers Jaw and The Sidekicks. I went from a casual listener of both bands to a major fan that night. I also picked up a Sam 7” that has become a favored piece to my collection. I can remember standing on a couch near the stairs with Andy, who now drums for Luther, as everyone went insane for tigers jaw. I’ll never forget the awful smell that filled that room at the end of the night.
“Ava are you trying to get high? I hope the floor holds this time…”

i am so excited by your post.  hearing that you became a major fan of tigers jaw and the sidekicks after this was my favorite part, i think, because this night affected a lot of my life; the sidekicks took over my life after this show.  ugh, i miss ava house so much.  i’m so happy to be in this picture because this is easily one of the best shows that i have ever attended.  i wish i had picked up a “Sam” 7”, but i never knew where any merch was being sold when i was at ava house.  i assume stuff was taken care of in the back, but i never ventured back there.  i usually sat and hung out on that seat you’re probably talking about; it was the backseat of a car placed against the wall.
this tigers jaw set was amazing.

will went through the program and mike was rescued from the slums of port deposit and matt is still in love and they made these songs. i don’t know if these songs ring so true to me because i know what these guys have been through or if they’re the real deal. click close tab because you think you’ve heard it all before, i don’t care.

Me:  I wish you lived around here, man.

Will:  Me too!

Me:  I think we would be great friends if you did.

Will:  We’re already great friends, don’t doubt that.  Distance can’t separate things like friends, man.  I’ll be up soon.

…this is why i love Will.  This happened on Facebook two days after Sundials played your house.  He was the first person I talked to when Dartagnan played your house a few weeks later.  Will…Will is one of the kindest souls.  There is no question why you think so highly of him and have managed to keep him in your life after high school.  You’re great at knowing good people, Joe.  Thank you for introducing me to so many wonderful people.

My Uncle Mike with Mason and Delaney.  Uncle Mike is seriously one of the kindest human beings.  I think everyone in this one area of Bensalem knew him; everyone knew him as “Crazy Uncle Mike.”  He used to have really long hair, and looked just like Ozzy Osbourne.  Hm, he’s covered in tattoos.  Probably has crazier stories than anyone has to tell.  When I was little, I never thought he would straighten out.  It’s pretty crazy to think of how he cleaned up his act.
